Okay so I know what you're thinking and yes its been a while since I've posted anything but in my defense I've been really busy. I just got out of the hospital a few days ago for dehydration causes by the stomach flu and for anyone out there who may have the stomach flu you certainly have my sympathies because it is the worst. Unfortunately I also gave it to my best friend who also ended up going to the hospital (sorry Shaunta) but luckily we are both doing much better now.
I had to push back my third retightening because of that but that reminded me that I never posted about my second so here it is. My second retightening took about 7 hours which is good considering how many sister locks I have. My consultant Faith is very patient and I'm glad because I know its not easy doing my hair. I was able to get pictures this time (I didn't forget).

First Re-tightening/ 1 Month Review
Okay so I know its been a while since I've made a post but I've been a little busy but i'm here now to give the updates.
So I had my first re-tightening and it didn't take very long which was great. One thing I have to say about my hair is that its growing very well. My consultant even said that it was getting thicker!! Which for anyone that has thin hair is always great to hear. The biggest issue I have faced with my hair is that it gets really dry sometimes. As most of you probably already know when you are starting sisterlocks you can't use any products like oils and creams on your hair. My issue with this is that my scalp gets really dry so one thing I started using was this,
Okay so this Cortaid Spray really helped with my hair because when my hair gets really dry I get dandruff really bad so I really have to keep it moist. I usually spray it every morning and I'm good for the rest of the day. I really love this stuff. So if anyone else out there has a problem with dryness on their scalp and patches of dandruff when it gets too dry then you should definitely try this.
So next week or so is my next re-tightening and I will definitely post pictures then because I forgot to take pics after the first re-tightening (Sorry).
But as far as my one month review I could not be happier with my decision to get sisterlocks. People have come up to me asking if they are really tiny braids and how nice they are and it usually takes a few minutes to really explain what they are but I absolutely love them. People always seem shocked when I tell them how much I paid for them but I actually got a really great deal and so I guess for me so far its all been worth it. This next re-tightening is when I have to start paying for the re-tightenings so we will see if I'm singing the same tune after a few months of payments. But I did make sure to budget that when I first made the decision to get them do hopefully I wont have any regrets down the line.
I'll be sure to post after my second re-tightening. :)

Rubber Band Problems
So after my second wash I noticed something interesting that other people had mentioned as well. The first thing that I noticed was that the rubber bands were very hard to get out of my hair. Since the rubber bands are so small i also noticed that when I took them out I was taking some of my hair out as well. So of course that alarmed me (as always I was freaking out!!) so I decided to take the advice of other sisterlocked ladies and use bigger hair ties. The ones that I bought were at Wal-Mart for about $2. This is what they looked like
So I tried washing my hair with these and I have to say that it worked out really well. It was a lot easier to take them out of my hair and a lot easier to put them in. So I guess I will be using them from now on and I will update you to let you know if they continue to work out for me.

Second Wash
So I have just washed my hair for the second time and I'm so glad to say that non of them slipped out this time. Yay!!! I have some pics of my hair after the wash. I have been locked for almost two weeks now and I absolutely love them!!!
One thing I love about them is that I don't have to style them for them to look nice. I plan to curl them once I get some curlers though I'm not sure how it will look seeing as how I cant use any chemicals. But as soon as I try out some styles I'll be sure to post them...

OH NO SLIPPAGE!!!!!
Okay so I knew that slippage might be a problem for me because my hair is so thin but what I didn't anticipate is that there would be slippage after the first wash. Of course I panicked eve though I knew about slippage and the potential for it to happen. But I texted my consultant and she just reminded me that it is completely normal and nothing to panic over, which calmed me down. I'm not sure how many came out but I know it had to be at least three of them.
Now I know I did the braiding and banding right because I was very meticulous about it. I even got my sister Tammy to help me do it just to make sure they were all tied up. Now I am even more concerned with how long it will take my hair to lock. But I know I just have to be patient and let the locks do their thing.

I'm Finally Sisterlocked!!!!
So as of January 4, 2014 I am officially sisterlocked!!!!! I took a while to get it finished and my consultant Faith really hung in there with me but in the end I absolutely love it. It took about 50 hours in total and I have over 633 locks in my hair. I thought it would be a lot more scalp showing but its actually 10 times better than what I thought it would be.
Locked: December 27- January 4, 2014
Installation Time: 50 + hours
Number of Locks: Approx. 633
Beginning Length: 6-8 inches
Hair Texture: Soft, Curly, Moderate density
As soon as I start doing styles I'll post those on here as well. I have noticed that there are not a lot of video or pics of styles which in the baby lock stage and since I'll probably be in this stage for a while. (Faith thinks it will be about a year before my hair locks :( ) But considering how much I like the my hair now I don't think it will be that hard to wait for them to lock.
So I am officially starting my sisterlock journey and I can't wait to see them grow out and lock.

Days 2, 3, and 4 of My Sisterlock Installation
Okay so I know that haven't been updating my installation everyday but I do have some pics from the days I've missed and I would've started putting them up but at the end of every day I was just too exhausted to post anything. But here I am now to update you on my progress. Now as I stated before my hair is very very thin and so it has taken a while for me to get the sisterlocks in. But I have to say that I absolutely love them so far. I knew the installation was going to take a long time considering because of my hair texture but I didn't think it would look as good as it does. Here is a picture of me after day 3
It's actually a lot fuller than I thought it would be based on some of the pictures I have seen but Faith told me that there are some consultants that have been putting the sisterlocks in too big and so there ends up being more scalp showing than what it should be. So I'm really blessed to have found my consultant because she is freakin awesome. Today will be day 5 of my install and hopefully the last day as well, but with my crazy hair you never know.
And this is after day 4, we are almost finished but there is a little more in the back that still has to be done. My consultant Faith told me that I have the most difficult type of hair to lock but when it does lock it will look the best. So I'm really looking forward to seeing it lock though I know it's going to take a while.
